X Trails X trails are small trails that link two larger trails together. These trails are shown on the map as dotted lines. The color of the X tells you the color of the trail you will end up on. For example, you are on the white trail and you see a yellow X blaze, that X trail will lead you to the yellow trail.

Trail Patterns The circle trails usually run North to South, and the rectangle trails usually run East to West. All trails are relatively easy except for the yellow circle which has strenuous sections with steep cliffs. You should not attempt to walk the trails without a map - it is easy to get lost. Caution: Do not walk too far without locating the next blaze. It is easy to wander off onto an abandoned road or animal trail. It is a good idea to carry a compass for emergency reasons.

Please note: The trails in Branford are blazed with a different system.
